I focus my practice on the empirically-validated and highly effective methods of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), both short-term, attachment-based, and healing-oriented approaches that are adaptable to a variety of issues. I have consistently experienced transformative results with these techniques in helping clients to experience relief from overwhelming emotions and negative interaction patterns. Clients also experience success creating secure attachment bonds, increasing awareness, improving communication of needs, and overall living a life of greater meaning and success.
I believe that we as human beings are biologically wired to heal, grow, and transform toward positive directions. We are adaptive. We also seek a secure sense of attachment – interactions resembling care, connection, and emotional engagement. As clients come up against distressing emotions and relationships, my focus is on undoing their sense of aloneness and being together with them in their pain. We make space to honor core emotional experiences, transforming helplessness into resilience and strength. Through this transformative work, clients are able to experience relief and freedom from life-long effects of trauma, including anxiety and depression.
I also specialize in working with children and adolescents and providing them with a safe outlet to feel supported, acknowledged, and understood. I am passionate about being a strong adult mentor at such an overwhelming time of life. There are endless benefits for children and teens in therapy, some of which include developing greater emotional awareness, learning healthy, life-long coping methods, confiding in a safe, trusted, non-judgmental adult to help in making responsible decisions, learning to resist the pressure of peers, and exploring an evolving sense of identity.
